What is it?
English Kids to Kids and Bridging Cultures(EK2K&BC) is a program in which high school students volunteer to teach English, STEM, art, and American culture to refugee children during the summer break.
Bridging Cultures
The Bridging Cultures aspect of the program encompasses the concept of a mixing bowl rather than a melting pot so that children can learn more about the world and the people in it, whilst embracing their own heritage.
Each day there is an interactive lesson planned for all of the children in which they have the opportunity to learn about a topic of American culture such as, but not limited to: The Civil Rights Movement, art & crafts, holidays, music, etc.

English Kids to Kids
Each child is evaluated based on their skill level and learning style, and then sorted into the group that is best suited for them. Curriculums for each level are designed to engage the children and to promote enjoyment through learning and embracing their own skills while learning new ones.
The STEM lessons allow children to explore fields of Science, Technology, and Math to enhance and develop their academic skills and abilities. Typically, this is a simple experiment or a lesson lead by TeCanal.
